My name is CAN D (yes, that's my real name and it's really spelled that way!).
I am a self-taught textile artist with a background in architecture, hospitality, and management.
Studio TouchyTouchy is my playground for all sorts of colorful, soft, glittery things...everything you simply have to touch.
Here I create textile objects – bags, carpets, unique pieces – by hand and from the gut.
Each product tells its own story – full of joie de vivre, fun and a wink.
I love taking on individual commissions to bring other ideas and wishes to life!
I use tufting to create rugs and wall hangings, resulting in bold, textured forms that emerge quite instinctively. For bags and pendants, I use crochet, letting each piece grow stitch by stitch, like a soft sculpture. I often work with recycled materials and let the process guide me – every piece is a surprise, even to myself.
